Please refer to the following news.Petro-Canada's MacKay River in situ oil sands development near Fort McMurray, Alberta is creating a wide range of business and employment opportunities in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB). Together with alliance partners, Petro-Canada is managing the procurement of goods and services to ensure that we receive best value for the project, maintain quality and safety performance, and provide full and fair opportunities for businesses within the RMWB to participate on a competitive basis. Local business opportunities are created by breaking down work into small, discrete packages (where possible), implementing a consistent contract award process, working with goods and services providers to identify capability gaps, and providing timely and honest feedback to bidders. A formal bidding and pre-qualification procedure has been developed by Petro-Canada in concert with the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce and the Northeastern Alberta Aboriginal Business Association (NAABA) to encourage local and Aboriginal participation in opportunities.
